I discovered early on that new students like lists. There’s something comforting in the fact you are reducing uncertainty of any domain into a finite group of steps. Of course it’s not only students. Education is the same- 5 minds for the future,  Seven Myths of Education, and even the Trivium whilst we’re at it!

So upon finding the 8 Studio Habits of Mind, (or SHoM) a framework coming out of Harvard’s School of Education, listing 8 dispositions for artists, I decided to customise this for my VFX students. If I’d presented it as for artists, they wouldn’t have identified with it. However, my changes were cosmetic.
